Napaleon Orda (1807 – 1883) is our famous fellow countryman, a writer, a composer, a musician and an artist. Thanks to the lithographs by Napaleon Orda, today we have an idea of what the architectural monuments of Belarus looked like. In Minsk, Brest and Hrodna, there are streets named after this artist and composer; the art school in Pinsk is also named after Napaleon Orda; one of the artist’s works – the Image of the Nyasvizh Castle of the Radzivil Family – can be seen in the Belarusian banknote of the sample of 2000. The city of Ivanava has a monument to Napaleon Orda which is the only one in Europe. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the artist, the National Bank of Belarus issued commemorative coins with the image of Napaleon Orda, and the National Library of Belarus published the album Napaleon Orda: From the Collection of the National Library of Belarus.
Napaleon Orda is a famous public and cultural figure not only of Belarus, but of the whole world, who left us a rich historical and cultural heritage – the priceless images of the past centuries.
Напалеон Орда – знакаміты грамадскі і культурны дзеяч не толькі Беларусі, але і ўсяго свету, ад якога нам засталася багатая гісторыка-культурная спадчына – бясцэннае адлюстраванне мінулых стагоддзяў.
